ABOUT

ICE BREEZE - ONE NOMINATION FOR THE 2024 BREEDING SEASON

Standing at: Woodlands Stud, Co. Galway (IRE)

Successful in the Group 1 Prix Royal Oak, out of the stakes-placed Winter Silence, a daughter of Dansili (Danehill) and a half-sister to a pair of top-level winners, Meteor Storm (Bigstone), winning the Grade 1 Manhattan Handicap and Polish Summer (Polish Precedent) capturing the Group 1 Dubai Sheema Classic.

This is also the immediate family of two other winners of the Group 1 Prix Royal Oak, the full-brothers Raintrap (Rainbow Quest) and Sunshack who between them won six Group/Grade 1 races in total, the Group 1 Nassau Stakes heroine Winsili (Dansili) who is closely related to Ice Breeze’s dam, and the Group 1 Sydney Cup winner Stand To Gain (Hawk Wing). Ice Breeze (Nayef) covered 82 mares in 2020, his second season at stud, and his appeal to breeders is obvious.

Owned and bred by the late Khalid Abdullah, he possesses a top-class pedigree on both sides of the family, was a champion while racing in France.

Winner of four races and placed five times in just 11 starts, Ice Breeze also won the Group 2 Prix Chaudenay and the Group 2 Prix Hocquart, beating Shakeel on the latter occasion. His efforts on the track earned connections more than £400,000. His own-brother Snow Sky gained his biggest wins in the Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot and in the Group 2 Yorkshire Cup, and he was classic-placed in the Group 1 St Leger.

NB All successful bidders must pay for their Lots no later than close of business on 18th January 2024.

The Nomination will entitle the Purchaser to have one approved mare covered by the stallion in the 2024 Northern Hemisphere breeding season. The purchaser shall be entitled to a free return to the stallion for the 2025 covering season for the mare covered in 2024 or another approved mare provided that the stallion is still standing at the same farm and is available to cover mares and only if, following the end of the 2024 covering season:-a) the purchaser produces a certificate stating the mare is barren and signed by a qualified veterinary surgeon relating to an examination carried out at least 40 days from the mare's last service by the stallion, OR b) the purchaser produces a veterinary certificate to the effect that the mare either failed to give birth to a live foal or gave birth to a foal which died within 48 hours of birth other than by reason of accident.
