ABOUT

SANS FRONTIERES - ONE NOMINATION FOR THE 2024 BREEDING SEASON

Standing at: Vauterhill Stud (GB)

Sans Frontieres, the 2010 Irish Field St. Leger (G1) winner who stood his first seven seasons at the Beeches Stud, relocated to Graham Heal's Vauterhill Stud since the 2020 breeding season after a deal was brokered by Richard Venn Bloodstock.

Sans Frontieres was raced by Sir Robert Ogden with trainer Jeremy Noseda, and while he opened his account as early as September of his 2-year-old season, he showed his best form at 4, stringing together three pattern wins that culminated in success in the Irish St. Leger.

He also struck in the Princess of Wales's Sportingbet.com Stakes (G2) at the Newmarket July meeting and the CGA Geoffrey Freer Stakes (G3) at Newbury.

Bred by the Lavington Stud out of the Listed-placed Shirley Heights mare Llia, Sans Frontieres is closely related to the MBNA Chester Vase (G3) scorer Hans Holbein and a half brother to the dual-listed winner Kootenay, while his 450,000 guineas (US$961,774) yearling price tag pays testament to his good looks.

NB All successful bidders must pay for their Lots no later than close of business on 18th January 2024.

The Nomination will entitle the Purchaser to have one approved mare covered by the stallion in the 2024 Northern Hemisphere breeding season. The purchaser shall be entitled to a free return to the stallion for the 2025 covering season for the mare covered in 2024 or another approved mare provided that the stallion is still standing at the same farm and is available to cover mares and only if, following the end of the 2024 covering season:-a) the purchaser produces a certificate stating the mare is barren and signed by a qualified veterinary surgeon relating to an examination carried out at least 40 days from the mare's last service by the stallion, OR b) the purchaser produces a veterinary certificate to the effect that the mare either failed to give birth to a live foal or gave birth to a foal which died within 48 hours of birth other than by reason of accident.

Approx. Height: 16 Hands 1 Inches
