AUTUMN SALE NEWS: THOMAS GREEN DISCUSSES HIS TOP CONSIGMENTS

Owner Thomas Green on his decision to sell some exciting NH prospects, and which ones he’s particularly excited about.

I’m really looking forward to Friday’s auction. There are huge benefits not only from an owner and buyers view, but more importantly the horse welfare. The horses don't have to do hundreds of shows, and they don't have to travel. Vendors minimise costs and buyers can still get all of the information they need, plus they can always go and see the horse if they want. It's a no-brainier really. Online sales provide great flexibility and it's good to see someone taking on the duopoly that we currently have.

I’ve got a number of nice fillies going under the online hammer as I need to concentrate on some other ventures, including one in horse racing, and this really doesn't leave me with any time left to enjoy owning these incredible horses. There are some really exciting and lovely fillies, including Lot 7, a big imposing Soldier Of Fortune filly who I'm really excited to see on the track. She’s a half-sister to the Rebecca Curtis-trained dual chase winner, Boston Joe; I'm sure she will turn out to be a very good racehorse.

Lot 10, ELLIE’S WARRIOR, is a nice Walk In The Park filly with a great page. Her half-brother won impressively on his Point-to-Point debut and was subsequently bought for £300,000 to go to Gordon Elliott. She looks like an incredibly exciting prospect and is by the right stallion.

Another one we have high hopes for is Lot 4, a scopey, good-looking Malinas filly from the family of Boychuk and Golden Chieftain. She has something about her that makes you take notice and has a lovely pedigree too.

They have all been expertly handled by Peel Bloodstock and I'm sure will make very good racehorses.
