THOROUGHBID SEPTEMBER SALE BLOG “CERTAINLY A BLACK TYPE FILLY”

Sep 8, 2022 · September Sale

I’ve seen the success that ThoroughBid have had in the past and it just seems to be one of the easiest ways to sell horses nowadays.

One of the biggest advantages of selling online is that you don’t have to transport the horses anywhere – it’s one of the best innovations in the bloodstock industry at the moment.

We’ve seven two-year-olds in the ThoroughBid September Sale [16th September].

Perhaps the most impressive is Cosmic Invasion. She won first time out at Chantilly and has been placed fifth and sixth in Listed and Group 3 races since. She’s from an incredible family including Sholokhov and Soldier Of Fortune – there’s so much to like about this filly.

She started over six furlongs and based on her pedigree we ran her over seven, which was probably a mistake. In fact, she’s got so much speed she’s closer to a five, max six-furlong filly. She then hit a growth spurt, so we gave her a two-month to freshen her up and allow her to develop.

She’s now a very imposing and athletic filly that will have a lovely three-year-old career. She’s certainly all about speed, but will develop stamina and she will certainly be a black type filly.

Another filly that is hugely exciting is I Am Incredible, by Pedro The Great. He’s a sire that you see more of in France and is of limited stock as he died two years ago.

We ran her in a maiden six weeks ago, just to give her racecourse experience and then she ran in Dieppe on August 30th, where she came through from the back of the field and won going away. She’s a very exciting prospect. The time she clocked there was four hundredths of a second slower than the subsequent three-year-old race on the card over the same course and distance.

Marie Velon, the jockey that rode her that day, said she can step into Listed company straight away. She’s only had two starts, so she has a lot of potential, and is ready to run.

King De France is by Wootton Bassett. He’s a fine, athletic type of horse.

He’s been a bit slow to come to hand and develop as a two-year-old but he will make a fine three-year-old. With the firmness in the ground this year we haven’t been able to run him as he needs a bit of cut. He’s a big, galloping horse who has potential.

We’re also selling Rosie Rocket, who was Sioux Nations’ first ever winner in France. That was an immensely proud moment, not just for us but for Coolmore to have their first Sioux Nation winner in France too.

She’s won a maiden, was fifth in a Listed race and was second in a very good handicap recently. She’s a five-furlong filly and is a real ball of speed.

Sodapop is by Belardo and is definitely a mile plus horse. We haven’t had the races in France for her. She’s a very athletic, galloping horse with a lovely stride, so I can see her being a lot better as a three-year-old.
